A poem about Moses.

The Kings decree – all male babies must die
while, Moses floated in a basket on the Nile.
The heart of Princes was touched by his cry,
Then, she carried him home to be her child.
Sister was guardian, mother was nurse
the most special baby of all the land.
A Jew that succumbed the Egyptian curse,
on the Kings lap and caressed by his hand.
The best education the world could afford
from Trig, Science, English and learning to sing.
A plan for his life ---designed by the Lord:
a General in place-- next to a King.
Moses’ education made him aware
his people were servants and he a Prince.
Traded Royalty for a burning bush there,
He then, heeded his call and departed thence.
Returned to his homeland, house of his kin
His purpose unfolds right before his eyes.
Must bring his people from terrible sin
then the peasant prince began his devise.
Bargained with the King –got his people out
he parted the Red Sea at God’s command.
Golden calf--   Ten Commandments on the Mount;
journey which determines the Promised Land.
He  organized the first church—taught the tribes,
And struck the rock three times when God said speak.
God knew his intentions even his vibes,
then, he chose a successor kind and meek.
Age one hundred twenty—strength as his youth
While his eyesight not in the least was dim.
Upon the Mount, saw Promised Land for proof
where the angels secretly buried him.
