Parents find it hard to say good bye to their daughter as she gets married and leaves their home to start a new one. Please click on the link below to listen to this poem as a song.

Her Way Home

The parents of the bride kissed their girl goodbye
And whispered please don't forget your way home
The bride teary eyed remembers how they strived and taught
her how to make it on her own

As the chord is severed and the bow is undone
A new link is formed by the Holy One
He protected her then He'll protect her now
And He still binds them together somehow

There were many nights up late as she returned from dates
And they always prayed that she'd make it home
Now there are memories recalled like when she learned to walk
And they had to let her go and take her first steps on her own

As the chord is severed and the bow is undone
A new link is formed by the Holy One
He protected her then He'll protect her now
And He still binds them together somehow

There's no way to stop the dove on her wings of love
One glance at the sky and you see she's already flown
But she won't forget her way home
No she won't forget her way home
