A walk on the beach,

Water dampens my hair.

A walk in the desert,

Wind and sand comb it out.

Invisible wind speaks,

But has no bite.

Dry sand covers, suffocates,

But has no life.

Take water and sand

To build a castle.

Add wind to water,

Cool droplets kiss my face.

Sand gives wind color and grit,

Wind provides sand strength

To seep through cracks,

Under doors, in open windows.

At water’s edge

Wet sand caresses my feet.

On the desert

Dry sand will burn and chafe.

Water, wind, sand complete each other,

Discover nature’s alliance.

Alone I am dry, bland, weak,

I need you, do you need me?

I appreciate your "thought process" here, Donelle. Your kinship with nature comes out strongly via your poetry. Thank you for sharing your philosophical perspective. Love and best wishes,

That is abssolutely beautiful. So often we take those things for granted. Nothing like squishing sand between your toes while the ocean washes over them.
