I saw her looking my way while we were on the street

Looking back at her I felt so complete
More complete than I ever felt with a man
I realize that most people do not understand
Being gay is not a choice. .
It is a lifestyle that one does not get to pick
For the most part, you know at an early age
Those feelings never go away
You try to fit in with heterosexuals
Dating a couple of guys
If you do end up marrying---it won't last
You become unhappy
You realize you can no longer lie to yourself and others
Always be true

Being true to oneself, goes with any part of our lives. Unless one can be true, the lies are always told in the end.

Good work.
