Sometimes the world leaves consciousness no choice but to dream.

Word Travelers

Is it illusion
That brings me peace and unbridled calm
That images a sweet scent of veracity found
That wanders through the rivulets of past memories
Lifting sadness from the fog of fear

Is it artifice
That brings the pleasure of fulfillment
Sans material trappings
Allowing feelings
Pride
Compassion for the reader's struggle
To enable dreams realized

Is it fantasy
To sense
To desire
To be the eyes of word-travelers
Enjoining that expedition to somewhere
That place the pen first guided the author
Where flowing lexicons opened out to sea
Becoming everyone's ocean to share

If it be hallucination
How does life present so real
One's mere imaginings

If authored reality be so delusional
Why does life create so valid
One person's imaginings to another

Such is the worded journey
This oneness to be discovered

You are the word-traveler supreme. The vessel you have chosen conveys very well your thoughts and ideals. Many here could learn from your expertise. I am.

illusion, artifice, fantasy, hallucination
and 'authored reality' delusional..you've covered the
bases of our retreats, Odin, where we go when the truth
is too much and it always seems to be too much; reminds me
in a sense of reading my horoscope and if it's favourable, i say
good and if it isn't i say loada rubbish..we need to excuse ourselves
constantly, it's salvation

I like very much the pull and tautness of your lines as you question reality/through the eyes and ears of world travelers, Odin. To sense and smell and feel and observe to the point of realism, it is not illusion, it is you and your deepness which takes you there . . . Liked the complete poem, but the first stanza . . . I liked best . . .

Is it illusion
That brings me peace and unbridled calm
That images a sweet scent of veracity found
That wanders through the rivulets of past memories
Lifting sadness from the fog of fear

TO 'BATHE' IN IMAGINATIONS...TO DREAM...IS A PLEASURABLE EXPERIENCE AND, CERTAINLY, A DEEP 'FULFILLMENT' OF THE BODY, MIND AND SOUL. BUT TO WALK IN 'REALITY', COPING WITH ITS JOYS AND SORROWS, IS AN 'NECESSITY' FOR SURVIVAL. I BELIEVE YOU SUMMED IT UP BEAUTIFULLY IN YOUR LAST TWO LINES; '...SUCH IS THE WORDED JOURNEY/THIS ONENESS TO BE DISCOVERED...' WELL DONE, ODIN, A GREAT SHARING. THANKS. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
