With Netanyahu's proffer of imminent "red line" threat from Iran; with Syria continuing to rage with hate; with misguided ambition challenging next
Wednesday's debate; and with its aftermath, the election, it's difficult to not muster up consciousness and weep with the seemingly futility of what Socrates would have asked of a populous: Do the right thing.

Septic Tank Doves

Vultures in white feathered masquerade

But must we tolerate

For who among us has not wished a Cause
hoped of Peace
gazed upon our oft times
pointless lives and wondered

Might I find that purpose?

Might an olive branch fill my grip?

Might I do and be of worth to peace?

We most likely have
for denying the small innate voice of reason within
makes but the screaming of logic louder

And yes

We have most likely
as Feisal Abdul Rauf has done
held our breath as we faced
another 21st century outhouse of
ignorance-fueled hate
complimented with Bio-enraged bigotry
inviting our waste-conscious inner self
to step on in
as the door is slammed
its iconic half moon craving for air
sealed by duplicitous stuffings of
political and moral pundit speak

Hate mongering would have us
allow them their directional will
to maintain and service our moral compass
toward the melting pole of reason

For whether we approve or not
like septic tanks of yore
rectitude’s needle-guided direction
will most likely be replaced
with another as yet unencumbered echo chamber
a surreal trap for the olive branch of peace
wafting the familiar stench of ignorant sepsis
up from the ever so close edge of Man’s odious abyss

Perhaps we need be more aware of
the pick up and delivery schedule
the fast approaching ides of November

So sad, but so very sadly true, for so many today.

Another concise expression of despair, painted with the vile sludge of human waste and acrimony. Very good work, Odin.

There is little we can do except write and vote. By writing we can clarify thoughts and engage people in revealing facts and truth, and by voting, we can change things. No one said it would be easy.

very interesting Odin many thoughts to ponder
