A look at new beginnings in the early morning hours when light first appears...
|
On the fringe of morning, when dew has already settled, and when shadows begin to lose ambiguity, a sun also rises and pours out light enough for us to see yet, another day. It’s reason enough to give thanks. The dawn of a new day spells early light and the splendor of God’s work. When most are asleep, there have been times when the urge to watch the sun peek cautiously and callous over the horizon is too much for me to remain nonchalant. Time waits for no one, reminding me ever so blatantly that it’s time to be up and at it! In times like these, I would want my Bible, prone to prayer, and a clear mind. It is dawn’s early light resplendent with promises of hope that gives me new beginnings, and a chance to start anew.
Maya Angelou told us that 'On the Pulse of Morning' that each new hour holds new chances for new beginnings. The horizon leans forward, offering us space to place new steps of change...on the pulse of any day you may have the courage to look up and out upon the world and see the Rock, the River, the Tree, your Country. Each new day, another chance to not repeat what was rendered yesterday – a chance to repent even, and certainly a chance to say “Good morning.”
