I am the dream that lingers when you wake
And stays just beyond your reach
The specter that wanders aimlessly
Do you need the lesson I teach?

I am the one who sings in the night
And watches over all
The one whose questions go unanswered
Did you hear my call?

Lovely poem: a call for the great unknown, death, and yet you watch over all...as an angel..love the duality which creates the throbbing intensity of the poem.Anne Pawlak.

Nicely expressed. Good write. If death be as charming and eloquent as you, I won't mind sitting down and discussing things with her.

that siren call that we have to both heed and ignore. you certainly captured its insistent nature, but also the fact that we shouldn't fear it.
