Vivid, swirling images of things that could have been
A touch, soft and gentle on my cheek.
A flutter in my chest, like a bird trying to escape
Angry flash of golden eyes, all things that make me weak.

Softly, I love you whispered in my ear
Dark blue eyes compelling me to tell all I know
Gentle lips dragging over my neck, goosebumps rising
Not even a good-bye glance, as you turned to leave..just go.

A small mark, forever placed, upon my trembling hand
Three tiny drops of blood red life, to never let me forget
That once I gave my heart away, and watched it crash and burn
That love is just a word to say, a small gift not to be sent

Compelling emotive words...I like the rapid contrasting themes in this poem..
Harsh, sad life lessons...but how do they contribute tothe person we become...?
It could be seen to depend on our perspective, and that swirling mass and mixture of experience and emotion...
