A poem about the scorned, abused, and used. You are not alone. From my book, "A Message..."

RELATIONSHIP OF ABUSE
I thought long and hard,
How to send this message to you,
You know who you are. Yes, you…
You are the person that hides in their eyes,
That shivers and crawls within the shadows,
But smiles bravely and carries on.
I know of your secret pain,
The one where your mind constantly wanders back--
Back to the abuse, and the fear…
Where you can remember, see, and hear
Things you would rather shrug off and forget,
But for some reason linger
Making you doubt and cough,
Feeding the dark and wakeful nights…
Your pain is felt by me and more.
I know of all the horror,
You are not alone in this fearful place,
For I have journeyed with abuse’s taste
A vile brew within my mouth,
A defensive gesture to cover my face,
A clenching of my mind against the words,
And that confusion you feel
While trying to understand how one you love
Could do this to you…
Well,
 I have felt that too.
We are everywhere,
You and I,
People cringing in their sighs,
People lost and used,
Those have been beaten with words, hands, and distrust…
Those have lain with an enemy
They never saw coming…
I am with you,
Right now as you read this,
I am holding you so you can release the weeping,
I know you,
Before you felt such pain,
I remember who we are supposed to be,
Happy, brave, and free…
Remember you with me.

this is so great that you would write this for others who have been abused, too-i have been there, too, and your message is one that should be heard loud and clear-speak on, my friend xxx Michelle

Abuse comes in many forms and you seem to have covered every channel or venue. "While trying to understand how one you love could do this to you" This rings true to everyone that has gone down this road. I was abused as a child by my father as well as the rest of my siblings. It was a horrific experience that lasted some sixteen years, when I finally mustered the courage to leave it all behind. To this day none of his children have visited his grave sight. The abuse allowed me to remember who I wanted to be when I began raising my own children. It was very important to create a home where my children could always be forgiven. Thank you for this read. This is a living testament for anybody that has stumbled down this path. God Bless you, Tim

Very positive message for all those living with such abuse and fear, but once you break loose the world opens up in bright sunlight....

Be always safe,
