Insomnia=inspiration=writing endless poems

So I am a blessed being,
awake at 2 AM
Not dreaming of a vision of dining
over loves and adventure,
But looming, fully awake,
Drowning in the night
In the emptiness that is endless--
All know of night's plight.
The time where night gnaws,
and preys on your mind,
where your thoughts
Blare like an alarm clock,
and chock out the time,
Where the bed is too soft,
Too hot,
Too hard,
Too NIGHT!
Where the darkness becomes deeper,
and so does your mind
as though yearning to dive in,
and swim the dark lines...
So blessed 2 AM waker am I,
Fully hooked on dark, unsettling batteries
As my flashlight shines,
A beacon for my pen to write,
And, YES, still it is this forsaken night!
Peeling my lips back,
I long to growl,
Frustration at my mind's love
for the night prowl...
SHUT UP
I try to desperately say,
But that only works
during the day
When my mind has too many
objects to explore--
The colors blinding
and the events that cause my mind to implore.
Throughout the day,
The imagery gathers,
and at night,
my thoughts then scatter,
Shatter and twist,
The unending wake,
to brake to the dawn
Whence a new day...
Surrounded and beckoning
My thoughts sworn anmisty
to scrounge in the night
With its torrid dynasty.

I think you mean "preys" in the 10th verse but I could be wrong. I allways appreciate it when others point out my "typos." Truly. You are a fine poet girl, Eden (poetess). I do love and appreciate the way you express yourself via your verses. You totally write my kind of poetry. I am grateful I "found" you here. Love and best wishes to you,

Regis
