Christmas Day is drawing near,
It's very plain to see.
As it draws near it's full of cheer,
But what's it mean to me?
Presents, and parties, and other things
Consume most of my time;
But I must think of my Sovereign King,
Who saved this soul of mine.
He was born that day in Bethlehem
A child in the manger lies.
His life the sacrifice for my sin;
A man was born to die.
This miracle of God's own Son,
Who came to dwell with men.
Jesus Christ, Emmanuel,
Can save from death and sin.
The only Way we must be saved
Is by the Savior's name.
The Light that flows from God's own heart
To heal the blind and lame.
All who turn from sin and pray
And seek the Savior's face
Will ever know his boundless love
And his amazing grace.
As the day draws near, this time of year,
I reflect upon the price,
The price of love God paid for me,
My SAVIOR, My KING, My CHRIST!
And now I know why glory shone
And why the angels sing.
And now I know why the Bible says,
"Peace, good will toward men."
