My house is alive

With song birds, plenty

Bathing in the fountain bath.

It grows

Strawberries the color of plump red rubies.

The bricks breathe in

Fragrant flowers on all sides,

Whirling on the wind.

Squirrels in the tall attic trees

And rabbits that hop

In the morning dew, with wet furry paws.

Butterflies, flutter by, as ants

Carry dark dirt hills

From one side to the other.

My house is alive.
