I held my spirit in my hands

Held it up to the sun

It flew away like a bird

Free

The world was my mother

I lost all sense of self

I became everything

And everything became me

I caressed the cheek of some lover

Became someone’s tear

I ran across the gangly grass –

I was the timid deer.

I am the crease

Inside that smile

That warms the other face

I am the joy

Between the two

The knowing

Of the one who always knew

I am the love

In all you see

I am the one

Who set you free
