Poison

It has so many meanings, it is always fun to hear what people say it is about.

I did not have anything in mind when I wrote it, but it has gotten a response over time. Enjoy!

Oh there is a word that could be offensive to some, the word is used to describe a place of fire. If that word offends you, please do not read.

Poison

Hush dear
And just drink of me
A long slow sip
From my grail

Wrap your lips on my cup
And embrace my warm drink
Which burns your soul
And fills your thoughts

Close your eyes dear
Smell the drink
Let it linger on your lips
And embrace the drink

Grasp at your throat
As you are forced awake
As you struggle for air
Relieve those moments in terror

Now you have learned
Something from a time long ago
Something someone should have warned
Something you thought was a joke

Look in the mirror
Embrace the facts I give
You have learned
One hell of a lesson

For everyday you will know
That of all you have loved
One now has left you
Poisoned
