We all have our crosses to bear.

No one needs to hear my song
All my music stands unheard
I will not be strung along
I won’t sing a word

And I pray
one fine day
I won’t want to bray
It’s absurd
Never doubt
how I stand out
from the herd

No one needs to read my text
All I’ve written can be burned
Torch my troubles, strike what’s next
chuck out all I’ve learned

In my flight
what is right
is what I can smite
slash and burn
Eat my dust
Never trust me
to return

Pack of angry palomines
Pack of stupid sheep
Watch me crawl, far from all
Lose you in my sleep
Herd runs here, herd runs there
I smell herd shit everywhere
Herd does this, herd does that
Pack of dogs, with me the cat
I’m not special; who's unique?
I just don’t want to hear you speak!
Nor I
If my wishes were fishes,
they’d fry.

No one needs to taste my touch
No one craves my sweet release
Never did like sex that much
All my troubles, cease

Let me go
I’m no Joe
for your kids to know
I’m absurd
Never doubt
how I stand out
from the herd

(actual time about 30 mins. -- I took time out for various website viewings after composing the bridge. This was based on today’s word of the day, “egregious,” meaning "extremely flagrant; glaringly, even outrageously conspicuous." It stems from two Latin words, “ex grex,” meaning “standing out from the herd.” To get the Word of the Day, see  .)
