How to refuse to be the goody bag at the pity party...

My Pity Party
I am “THAT” friend,
The one “THEY” turn to in time of need.
As “THEY” seek moral absolution,
Regardless of “THEIR” deeds.
I have chosen not to judge.
I live and let live all.
Consequences by their nature,
Are resultant of"THEIR" thralls.
Help "ME"! – Help "US"! –
A pleading I often hear –
What about "ME" - I question,
Do “ANY” see “MY” tears?
No one cares I’ve determined.
Truly - no one deigns to see,
The existential breakdown
Cascading within “ME”.
I have fought "MY" pity party.
I have drank and laughed in vain.
I have masqueraded a happy face,
So none must bear "MY" shame.
I don’t want to bare "MY"angst.
I choose not to share "MY" pain.
I just want “ONE” f**king person
To ask “ME” if I’m sane!
I hurt – I pine – I grieve -
Always alone it seems.
I am so very tired –
"THEIR" indifference demeans.

As I once read  -

and by now should have known....

Laugh and the world laughs with you...

Weep and you weep alone.

I think your sanity is beyond any other, hence the dispair. In heart, I feel your pain. Warmth and Love to you.

Okay, are you sane & don't worry about pity parties, all of us have them every so often and better to whine than to cry as crying could drip water on your keyboard and that won't do your computer any good...ed

I understand how you feel! I've known people who are very self absorbed in themselves they fail to see the things I'm going thru, or maybe they just don't care. Compassion goes a long way. Enjoyed this poem, Ms BEEDS. Keep writing!
