I. The Meeting

The day we met it was sunny
There was a chill in the air
And when you smiled at me, I felt warm.

The sound of your voice as we talked
Mingled with the noise of traffic
As the subway smoke curled around us.

We walked hand in hand to the platform
Smiling as we joined our groups
And entered the train talking to friends

We arrived at the hotel
Tired from the long day’s work
We slumbered, waiting for what came next

II. The Joining

Our planes landed, we said goodbye
We kissed lightly and walked away
To baggage claim and family

All was chaos around us.
Fielding questions of “How was your trip?”
While thinking of the person we met.

We wrote letters to stay in touch
Speaking of our newfound love;
Making promises to stay true .

The summer came and we grew closer
Walking to class and sharing the night
Forming a bond that was soon torn

The summer ended as did us;
We each moved on but never forgot
A love so true that could never be.

III. The Separation

The years passed and I met another
But I could not forget that winter
And the love that I once had.

Summer came and I was alone
Feeling the warmth of the sun
And the loneliness in my heart.

I heard that you were getting married
And I sat by refusing to fight
And watched the colors of summer fade

A ray of sunlight entered my world
And I once again had hope
Of love with you and what we shared

You could not forget that winter
Of long ago and wanted me back
To be yours and you would be mine.

IV. The Reunion

Another winter is here
And once again I see your smile
We walk hand in hand and I feel warm

Years have passed and we have grown
In age and in intellect
To adults who know what we want

Our lives have come full circle
To reach the point where we began
To see and feel and love each other

I lay in my bed smiling
Listening to the rain fall outside
Thinking of the person I met.

I walk down the street humming
Feeling the winter sun on my face
The air is chilly but I feel warm.

Nice story told in a different format. It's as if it was an outline for a TV show or something. Very nice account. Sounds like a real-life experience you are writing about.
