This poem is from my new book "Remaining Calm." This poem is my mode of living. It expresses me completely.
Don't think I'm o.k.
just because I smile in your face.
Don't think I don't care,
just because I haven't combed my hair.
Don't think I don't mind
that you staring me down.
Don't think I won't lie or
give you the run around.
Don't assume I'm always sweet,
because truthfully I'm hell.
Don't think I'm always right,
although I do mean well.
Don't think I'll take too much drama,
because wrong you would be.
Don't you dare assume anything,
unless you heard it from me.

|Very well spoken and delivered! There is a lesson in this poem for all of us--that is, the consequences of assumptioon can be dire, indeed, and can be summarized in the following quote: "To assume makes an as* out of you and out of me." It is definitely reflective of truth!|
