Christmas Eve With Jesus

This is what I imagine it would be like if I was with Jesus the night he was born.

I saw the
star on that
most holy night

I saw three wisemen
with gifts and they
followed this wondrous sight

My heart sang for
joy and my soul
knew I must also see

I knew not where
I was going
but the star guided me

I went with the
the wisemen
who welcomed me with love

When we came closer
to the star
I heard angels sing from above

The light became brighter
and had to
close my eyes

When I opened them
there was a simple
manger - a baby's size

My heart and soul
could not hold
the joy

Right before me
was a most
blessed boy

Who is this child?
Why do my heart
and soul sing?

Who is his mother
who smiles and
such love she brings

His father seems
overwhelmed by the
birth of his son

Am I really here?
The wisemen bring
their gifts, but I have only one

I kneel before
the manger with
humility and joy

Then I reach
my hands to
this most holy boy

Will you accept my heart
This is all
I have to give

I have no gifts
of gold but I
have faith I want to live

The tiny child
lifts his hands
as if he holds my heart with care

Mary gently puts
her hand on my shoulder
and a hug we share

The wisemen sing
The angels
join the song

As we sing
I feel incredible
joy and know I belong

Singing of new birth
New hope!
Life will never be the same

Many will honor him
and speak and sing
of his holy name

But my song
is not to be
sung only on this holy night

I lean toward Jesus
and he puts his tiny
hand on my heart

A most powerful
fire begins to
burn within never to depart

I know this fire
of love and faith
is to be shared

This night is to
light the way for
so all are aware

Alleluia Alleluia!
Jesus is with us!
Eternal love for all!

Amen

God bless you for sharing this shining testimonial. Jesus gave so much for us, it is the least we can do to give back to him.

and God bless you for this gift of a wonderful poem.
