Love Without Touching

There it is, on Pandora Radio...

Our song, Enigma's, "Sadness."

Ripping through my spirit, penetrating my soul,

Recapturing the "us," well, the way it was.

All the little things,

Rushing back,

'cause we were so, so, so mighty together...

until death separated us.

The immobolizing sameness of fog-like days,

and me...just getting by, drowning in empty.

Drawn to the calendar, I see the date...

Well now, it's your birthday!

Is this your love-gift coming through...

'cause it's working?!

I see your face in the softness of candle-glow.

Your voice comforts me.

...and nobody, ever smiles your smile...

and no song, though hauntily sad,

could ever love me this much without touching.

See, I miss you...

IT ONLY TAKES A SONG...SOMETIMES NOT EVEN A SONG...JUST AN AROMA...AND WE ALLOW THE PAST TO SPREAD ITS TABLE BEFORE US AND FOR A MOMENT OR TWO...WE DINE...LOVE WITHOUT TOUCHING. A BITTERSWEET WORK THAT IS DONE EXCELLENTLY. THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS.

Hi Brenda,

So magnificently eloquent I can feel the pain wrenching my heart, such pain that military families experience, and those whose loved ones are suddenly taken away by death in the line of duty.

A most endearing piece, as if a haunting melody playing softly in the background. Such small consulation to a hurting heart....

Be always safe,
Karen
