Only Child

Imaginary friends of childhood's unconditional love.

                  Only Child

She plays

She plays with her Doll

She mixes sandy mudcakes,

to dry in the sun.

She picks a long, stemmed daisy,

pulls one soft petal at a time,

"She loves me, she loves me not..."

Until each petal lies at her feet...

"Ah, yes, she loves me!"

When she swings,

Doll swings, too.

She swings very high and sing-songs,

"Touch the sky! Touch the sky!"

They soar freely,

She giggles,

Doll giggles, too.

She let's go, jumps down,

Doll jumps, too.

She giggles,

Doll giggles, too...and

Jus' cause they like it...

"Let's do it again," said Doll.
