"Spring is sprung, the grass is riz," as my grandfather used to say, "I wunder whur the flowers iz." It always made me laugh. And then I grew up.

April is cruel
But May
Will right out
Kick your ass.

It is the season
Of hope:
Precursor
Of whatever is
At the end.
Nothing.
Something.

But it is May.
Anything
Is possible.
Even love.
Even now.

Yes, Patricia, anything is possible in May. Like me. I was born
in May along with the flowers and crawly things that bite when I
spread out on the grass and contemplate the meaning of why I was born in the first place. The Russians named a Day after it. And in grade school we named a Pole after it. May cannot be denied. -gene.
