The priestly medicine man, Shaman of this wondrous new age
Earlier than the long honored daylight he arises
Seeking a request of understanding; truth and wisdom visions
From his eternal gods and deities

The smoke form of his holy fire whispers in the hisses
Softly speaking in the misty haze of air
Prophetic powers running swiftly in his native blood
Prayerfully he gathers and prepares divining bones to cast and read
Carrying them in his leather-beaded bag, he journeys ever eastward

The Shaman chants with upraised arms and dances with his heart unsheathed
He shouts his spiritual melody skyward and joins his supernatural friend,
The Sun
Whitewashed bones of tribal Elders passed are dropped, the quality of gifts ensured
Above the horizon gleams the Blessed Dawning of the Day
His appearing countenance forever smiles in generous conjunction view
The Golden Spirit brings a simultaneous effect in red and yellow tones
A combined occurrence set in glowing Warmth and Light
