I gaze in summer wonderment upon the five-point chiseled stars
They roused the rhythmic drumbeat of my heart, displayed
Unique in crystalline architecture,
Twinkling in their vast array

I recalled our lengthy conversation, the only subject of the day
The white-hot clusters you have wished upon all belong to you
Go ahead and save your soul possessions
Ones strewn along the darksky avenue

The midnight hour fast approaches, swiftly comes when least expected
Let your trembling fingers clutch them tightly, hold them one by one
Their gift is wisdom's lamp, a timeless old-sage guardian
No stumbling paths unto your feet, a blessed compass of opinion

With Love's understanding in my heart, I simply borrowed a meager handfull
To return them when the transformation time was right
Left freestanding, liberated from my heavy burdens
Dame Fortune glows, transmits her gold-dust beams, due north Polaris light
