I love this city. I was born here.

Old DELHI (Walled City) - Heritage City

It is a friend, it is an ally
East India’s heart and warm belly
Weather varies from hot to chilly
I was born here in Old DELHI
-
It treats prince and pauper equally
Mere Rs 10 can feed you fully
Find here what’s available globally
Pahari Imli area is crowded and hilly

Machhli Walon hospital for women ideally
Enjoy nihari, jalebi, dahi-bade, jelly
Meet here Karim, Kulvinder, Kelly
Nai Sarak - clothes, books in little lolly
-
Unani medicine cures almost magically
Eid celebrated with fervor nationally
Sufi saints bless the city occasionally
Generally people are pally pally

Mushairas, havelis, rickshaws go quizzically
Urdu lends old world charm really
Narrow lanes scented and also smelly
Ghalib, Khusrou soaps seen on telly
-
Lal Qila visit ends the trip usually
Qutub Minar is a delight visually
Jama Masjid is a treat wholly
Chandni Chowk shows spirit exuberantly

-
Fatehpuri, Nizamuddin, Okhla - go youthfully
This is my city, my spirit roams zestfully
