This poem was inspired because of my daughter. Who from the time she was 6 months old till she turned 21. Had spent a good part of her childhood going from one surgery to the next, making happen what the doctors said she would never do and that was to walk, swim, run and ride a bike like other people. It took courage, strength and determination but she taught herself to do it. I am so proud of her. This poem is my way of immortalizing her and sharing her life with the world. Hoping to inspire others.

She came from a dream! She came from the heart,
She was my little miracle, right from the start
When I saw her, I loved her and the tears stared to fall
She is what I’ve always wanted, most of all.

Her tiny little fingers, her tiny little toes
The biggest brown eyes and that button nose
Her hair curly brown and her smile a glow
God made a miracle for the world to know

Her legs would not bend and her feet were straight
God made her special, not planned but by fate.
He knew what he was doing! He knew what was right,
He knew she had it in her to fight, fight, fight!

When the doctors first saw her, a shock they all were
They had never seen it and there wasn’t a cure
They said she would never walk like the rest
So we packed our bags and moved out west

I called the Shriner’s, their hospital to see
Away we went Gitan and me.
By plane, train and car we would travel a lot
Nothing would stop us, and surgeries she got.

In no time at all she was making her rounds
Walking and running all over town
The casts would not stop her, and neither the pain
She was ready to live and the worlds love to gain

Her smiles are big and her smiles are bright
She lights up the day and she lights up the night.
She makes me laugh when I want to cry
When I need a friend, she is always standing by.

She is Gods Little Angel
But a treasure to be,
I’m blessed for sure,
For she was, given to me.
