Cape Cod Minute
It's tiger lily season. Orange
blossoms with black stripes,
fierce and bright, stretch
the back roads from home
to the post office. Town crews
stall traffic, trim green branches,
allow time for me to notice.

| That's a nice way to write about traffic delays. Most people don't accept them so graciously. I do recognize the heart of a poet, though, as you use every opportunity to observe your surroundings. |
