A love poem

Your sweet mouth,

And the salt that come forth,

Opens portals to other dimensions

Where I am safe and secure, easily and effortlessly,

And challenged

To be all I can

Be, do, or have.

Your open mouth

Bears the torch

At the end of the tunnel

When you say, “Hello, sweetie.”

Your delicious watermelon salsa,

Spelled with two “Ls”

On our tastebuds,

Was written in the stars

1,000 years ago

And will be there 1,000 years more.

I love your

Feathers,

Or my feathers,

In your mouth

And on your tongue,

A creative force

That duplicates what works,

Tailoring it to you, to us.

I will be there as long as you

Reward me with, “Good girl,”

Or as long as you will have me.

I have written many love poems,

Which you have never seen,

But none have been as truthful…

…until now.

We come from the same fabric

That will change the world we live in,

Internally,

Thus externally.

I see value, and I value it.

In our world,

Pre-incarnation,

With lives like rose petals,

Work is an illusion,

Fear is an illusion,

Loss is an illusion,

Time and space does not exist.

No illusions…just right.

I love

Being physical,

Even if we’re non-physical beings.

Our being

Together is a defining moment,

And we can continue to refine our definitions

As long as we want to be incarnate.

We have a perfect union,

Which I can say,

Because I have defined perfection

As natural and a given

In a spiritual world.

Your mouth can talk about yourself

Because it’s what you know,

And I can listen to you talk

Because I think you’re interesting.

I want to say

That I’m thankful, grateful, and appreciative of the fact

That you take care of me,

And I’ll take care of you a few more lifetimes still.

I’m as flexible

As your mouth

On my bing cherry

And will change my perceptions of you

When you change

So that I will always see you as my hero

On the back of the horse

Of many colors.

You are strong enough

To be my man;

You keep up with me,

And I keep up with you.

Teach me my whole life long,

About how to tie a cherry stem with your tongue

Or how to have ticklish fun,

And I will apply that knowledge

(Which is power, called love)

To making our life

And our love

Strong enough to break the bonds

Of the promise I made to myself

When I was naïve.

I want to hear your mouth

Discuss the deep, the dark, and the dangerous

Because from the depths of the darkness

Is buried a shiny treasure,

A gift of the magi.

I’ve seen you cry

With a smile on your mouth;

Someday you’ll see me cry

Tears of joy

When I give you two options:

To love or be loved,

And you choose both.
