My Solitude

I love to sit and watch the steam
as it rises, ever so gracefully, from my coffee cup.
When the evening has finally reached the time
where all is silent, other than the soft, gentle
sounds of sleep flowing throughout the room...
This is my solitude. A peaceful abyss for the soul,
where my thoughts can run as free and unbridled
as wild mustangs, charging in any direction they
choose to go. When my mind is no longer harnessed by duties, and repetitive daily tasks. The time when, for a little while, I am not Mom, honey, or “the misses”. The time whenI can truly just be me. A time to be treasured.

Loved the peaceful setting of this. I, too, love that time when the kids are asleep and the world is mine.
