Back at work,
And glad to be.
I could feel insanity
Creep up on me.
What’s this? you say;
You were mad before!
Of course, you’re right,
But now it’s more.
Shut in the house
Day in, day out.
Nothing to do
Except sit about.
It’s hard to juggle
Crutches and cups
When you try to walk -
I’ve given up!
So everyone
Be patient please,
If I should ask
For a cup of tea.
The hardest thing
I find to do,
Is open doors,
So I may ask you!
It’s nice to know
That once again,
I’m back at work
And with my friends.

After being home from work for three months, but still on crutches (after fracturing both feet), I wrote this humorous poem for our staff newsletter - my way of saying thanks in advance, as well as "I might need a cup of tea!"
