My Economy

Reflection on too many years spent in retail.

To avoid chores I coursed with vermin
Employed whores, forced a sermon
Though the light tried to reject me
Soon the night vied to protect me
Wrapped in a dark blue shade
Trapped in an untrue trade
By day my wages were pale
My way for ages mere sale
I craved to dig in dismal delves
And saved nothing for myselves
