I still see your face,
When my eyes close at night.
And When I see you there,
I wish that you could be back by my side.
I still feel your touch,
Softly burning on my skin.
And as I lie awake,
It warms my heart within.

I remember how,
It felt to hold you close.
When to stroke your tender skin,
Was to touch the petal of a newly flowered rose.

I remember how,
It felt to hold you near.
When you cried into my arm,
And I wiped away your tears.

And I remember how,
A kiss from your scarlet lips,
Lit the fire in my soul,
That I'll always think of, and forever miss.

I still think of you,
More than I know I should.
But when I tried to let my feelings go,
I knew I never could.

I loved you then,
I love you now,
And I'll love you always,
Until I reach my final days.

Very nice, Sara. Bittersweet. I felt the speaker's longing.
