An old poem I stumbled upon just now...

You're keeping me here
And driving me away.
You tied my hands with a promise
That you'd drift
Away if I
Did it again.
I've tried my hardest,
And done so well,
But you're gone
Anyway, and I'm
Left wondering what I've done.
It's because of you
That I go home and cry
And stare longingly
At the scars.
Because of you,
I know that if I do,
I kill whatever chance
I have at regaining
What I long for.
Why did you
Trap me like this?
What do you
Hope to prove?
Two words
Over two weeks
Does not reassure
Me that I can
Be someone
Worth spending time with.

But I love you too much
To be angry
For long.
Whatever you do,
Why you do
What it is
That you do
Doesn't matter
I'll never forget you
And if you ever
Return I'll welcome
You with open arms.
But I'm not going
To let you
Determine how I
Feel anymore,
Because you've proven
You don't really
Care about me.
