They always say your childhood years are best,
The age of innocence, no fears, no stress.
I still remember...echoes of your laughter project like rays of sun...
We played hide-and-seek; it was I who always won.

We were partners in crime.
We traveled the world, went back in time
You promised me, and I promised you;
We'd be friends forever, if only we knew..

Dusk approached, the sun set.
I always left with a sense of regret.
But no matter what, come what may
I'd always be back, the very next day.

One night we came, hand in hand,
To our mountain, to see the sun land.
It hid forever, beneath a cloud of gray...
I thought we'd promised; I thought you'd stay.

They always say your childhood years are best
But I guess our friendship couldn't pass the test.
It's all a memory, all in the past,
But weren't friendships made to last?

All I ever wanted was to see in your eyes...
A Hope, A Prayer, A Dream of Sunrise.
