If you see me lost in my thoughts

If you see me close my eyes

Iím only trying to find my way

Iím only telling myself those lies

So please just look away

Please donít bother to pry

Please leave me alone

Please donít ask me why

Just one look at his picture

Just one memory of one day

Just the suggestion of that voice

And itís all too much to keep at bay

Itís just too easy to get lost in thought

To close my eyes and see him there

To pray for someone to undo a tragedy

The helplessness is just too much to bear

So please just keep on walking

Please donít bother to pry

Please just leave me to myself

Please donít ask me why

Just the thought of that smile

And the love meant just for me

A whispered voice promising tomorrows

Again, itís his face I see

Behind closed doors

Away from prying eyes

I can relive those moments of ours

I can keep telling myself those lies

That day that never happened

That phone that never rang

The world didnít come falling down

No hook on which no helmet would hang

So please just mind your business

Please donít even try

Please leave me alone in my memories

Please donít ask me why

Please just keep on walking

Please look away if I cry

Please leave us alone

And please, please donít ask me why

Cade, I can only hope that putting your loss and grief on paper takes you one more step toward being able to being able to manage life without him. We never get over losing someone whom we love, we merely learn how to live with that loss.

Peace.
