Till It Shines

TILL IT SHINES

My sun went down with you that day

It met a fiery, early end

Though it is gone, I never stopped believing

One day it will shine again

So I’ll keep on looking for you till I find you

Though others will say I am blind

I’ll wait on you as I wait on the sun

I will wait again till it shines

Yes the sun followed my hero to the cold and dark

On a day that should never have been

That should never have seen that sun rise at all

That should never have birthed the end

But I will keep on looking till I find you

Though the voice of reason deems me blind

I’ll wait on you as I wait on the sun

I will wait again till it shines

On a lonely December day

That sun was scattered to the winds

And became a part of the earth

Joining that new life that begins

In the shadow of a stark skyline

My sun was taken in the blink of an eye

Taken quickly, but not found for months

Till the day inevitable horror was mine

Leaving me as lost as he

And hopelessly fighting time

Though lost, I will keep looking till I find you

And perhaps they are right and I am blind

But I still wait on you as I wait on the sun

And someday…someday

Someday I will see both shine
