I miss you every day

The time it scurries by

I close my eyes and see your face

And quietly I cry

Still searching for the one to lead me

And it will never be the same

Still searching for the one to shelter me

The keeper of the flame

The keeper of my heart

Holds in his hands my name

Hands that will never again touch mine

The keeper of the flame

Imagined arms around me

Holding me so close

Taking away all the pain and sorrow

Telling me the things I need to hear most

And still searching for the one who saved me

Knowing things will never be the same

Still searching for the one for me to save

The keeper of the flame

The keeper of my heart

Holds on his lips my name

Lips that will never again touch mine

The keeper of the flame

They told me I would forget

That in time the suffering would end

Instead that morning replays in my head

From that memory, I cannot defend

And I am still missing you, my dearest

My heart still lifts when I see that smile

And I hold your photo close to me

And forget, at least for a while

That I will always be searching for the one who saved me

And life will never be the same

I will keep searching for the one I need to save

The keeper forever of my heart

Holds yet upon his lips my name

It is you, my angel

You always will be

The keeper of the flame

Cade,

My goodness, it's been a long time. I've missed you! You haven't lost your touch in penning strongly emotional tributes to those who perished on 9/11. Well done!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
