Look to the Skies

In memory of the crew of Columbia, and for all the brave and courageous people in our Space Program...

We watched with wide eyes
as you opened the skies
and took us out to the stars.

As time after time,
we all crossed that line,
your visions were also ours.

You slipped earthly bonds
to the vast great beyond
your courage beyond compare.

Learning and teaching,
Striving and reaching,
our dreams were with you up there.

Mission Control your heart,
each man and woman a part,
though earth bound, out there with you.

Sharing in all of your gains,
sharing in triumphs, and pains,
their care and love tried and true .

So sudden your loss,
so tragic the cost,
who you were, what you could yet be

We pray, tear filled eyes,
as we look to the skies,
God needed you more than we....

Oh, my, how utterly, utterly moving this is. You have a heart spun of gold and a mind woven of pure magic. You have honored these people, as you always honor us in the den. Simply beyond words. Love, katy.
