For My River Princess

A love poem

For My River Princess

Think of us my love when the north wind blows

and it will not let you sleep;

and think of us when the moon grows dim

casting shadows like our kisses--long, and soft, and deep.

Think of us when your heart beats in rhythm with the stars,

or when your thoughts journey outward past Venus, Jupiter, or Mars.

Our love is that unbounded even when surrounded

by the chill of night or the steaming heat of day.

But do not ask to know if I love thee—

for my words can only say it,

this verse can just convey it;

only believe in us and

it shall always be.
