It has a meaning, but it's something you're going to have to work out for yourself ;)

Angels of Gold

The light shines on empty eyes,
Barren fields of barley.
And with each darkened hour I seek,
A way of life and such they speak,
A blossom beneath the thorns and leak,
From my eyes a tear; I cry.

I curse this day for my love sworn,
I feel each way my heart is torn.
Yet why must gold dust become an angel?
I see it clearly in mist dissolved,
In this room it's death by conquest,
A loom to weave our love forlorn.

The moonlight beckons me beyond,
Our patience grace and understanding.
There's yet an eagle in their eyes,
So how have I come to despise,
A kaleidoscope of heaven's lies,
We are but saviours in disguise.
