What You Mean to Me
Shadows in the Mirror
>> View all 95
In a play of sunlight splashing
you fan your hair out,
as the drops of early morning light
guild your appearance,
like a halo illuminating before me.
I pulled the seat back, standing in the steam
rising from the black top,
as the rain poured through me.
I climbed in next to you
feeling warm rain trickling from my hair.
I could feel the rain pulling me away,
as I gripped the steering wheel with frustration.
You pulled me closer, I could feel you reaching in
subduing all of me - drifting slower
in the movement of your kiss .
The steam was rising once again
As the smell of chocolate musk
exploded around me.
We were drenched to the skin
As the rain filled the windshield
But like an illusive cat
the elements were in play to favor you
I could only taste the peppermint rain
as you moved in deeper to the passion
of the captive caught up in the warm mist.
I slipped into your kiss
only to become lost in perfect harmony.
Breathing into me
you are above my vision
pouring into me like the rain.
You held on so tightly,
breaking pieces of my soul
that were frozen in the quiet,
as you recited a chorus that pleaded in song,
for me to love you forever.
I opened my hands and wrapped my arms around you
feeling the supple wet contours
that were soaked in ecstacy.
In the warm mist that fogged up the windows,
I slid my fingers through your silky wet hair.
I could break the seal on every dream
you had yet to realize in a lifetime
but you opened them one by one in a single kiss
to proposition every second,
with the promise of tomorrow.
I could feel myself growing weaker,
In the absence of every word I did not utter
I surrendered my life.
Under a blanket of dark clouds, surrounded by a city,
in a warm car, parked against the curb.

|You are an exceptional poet, warm embrace, hot sensuality but beneath it all the very reason for life and love. Stunning.|

You have reviewed many of my selections of poetry posted here within on AD. Most recently, you have left wonderful comments on hard-biting, controversial Sweetwater poetry. I appreciate your well-written commentary more than you know, Tim. You and I need to write something together one day in the way of Christian/Pagan life-smacking modern-day respectful spiritual poetry! I value you as both a peer and a friend. You're just one heck of a writer...the one you did about the wagonwheel is my favorite!
Peppermint Rain is soothing and cleansing, also an offering. Mint is mentioned in the bible as one of the tithing herbs. To give of oneself, cloaked in spirituality sharing an act of spiritual love whether it be in a warm car parked against the curb or under the warm religion of the quilt upon one's bed, is gospel sung of passion's cries and healing spiritude...it can all be set right through Peppermint Rain! Be each other's umbrella and after the Eurythmics sings Here Comes the Rain Again, have a warm cup of peppermint tea. This offering stirs the spiritual cup, Tim...Be Well...Blessed Be.

|Tim...Surrendering to this beautiful poem was a very sweet abandon of senses...
Feeling the kiss of love’s passion...beautiful & delicate
& commanding presence...
