a love poem
Your Kiss is revelation
that fills the empty pages
of the story written
in every breath I draw.
l that is a testament to the Glory of God,
you envelop my senses
that adorns a cool mist rising
to the sanctity of confidence.
I am visionary but remiss,
I stumble but still I yield
the bounty of everything
that leaves me trapped
in your essence.
I am beside myself
to the conflict
of reaching the man you see within me.
I tremble as a quivering captive
held tightly by your alluring presence.
I am weaker to you
but stronger to steel and granite
that wears this world like an over coat
in the miles of every yellow stripe
painted on the highways.
You are simple
but complex like a prism
that explodes with color
before my eyes that is painted
all around me with a simple seductive touch.
I am defined in you and cannot stand alone
even in the darkest night that would leave me
against a pale moon in a bitter cold howling wind.
I cannot escape or be held
in the allocations of another woman
as your mercy endows me with a single kiss.
You are the promise of everything I yearn,
like a cool rain in the height of Spring
embracing the overture that blossoms
deep within the testament of every living word.
I am here as a witness
to the truth you bear
not once reminding me
of my scarlet past,
for today and tomorrow
only look forward.
