We all need something to keep our hopes up somehow. This poem (lyrics actually), that I made in my college days is my little way of trying to do my part of keeping faith alive in these trying times......... |

I couldn't believe what I saw
As I woke up today
This world seems crumbling down
It just can't be this way
All you hear on t.v. and papers
Tales of war and of waste
Switch the channels, turn the page
Someone dies without a home, another with AIDS
Home values and the Church
Seems to be fading away
Feels like we're losing faith
Each and every passing day
But sometimes, given time
Something happens, something gives
A miracle unfolds, a tale to be told
Giving us hope and more reasons to live
I'm a believer
I still hold on to my dreams
Of living in a better place
No grime and crime
No hatred of race
But if you take a look around
This world we're living in
It seems your dreams will die
It seems you'll give in
But we must keep on hanging on
Holding each other's hands
Spreading love, sharing, and giving
Healing our only land
Mother Earth we're sorry
Now we're making a stand
We're gonna put things right
We're gonna give you a helping hand
I'm a believer
I wouldn't be surprised
To see us one day
Righting all our wrongs
In our own little way
I believe my dreams will come true
There really is a better place
We just have to have faith
A better world for the human race
A future where our children will live
In a place with equal race
No one spreading hates and lies
But a warm and loving face
Tomorrow seems so far away
But I know it will pass
We're doing this for our children
We'll make sure that our world will last
I'm a believer...
I couldn't believe what I saw
As I woke up today...
Clear waters...
Clear skies...
No hate...
No lies...
JUST AS I ALWAYS DREAMED IT THAT WAY.
