The Rest of the Way

My life is but a vapor

So when I look at my death-bed

I want to see more of it behind me

Than even a breath of it lying ahead

I want to live at my full potential

And die when I’m called to come

Joining the masses in the clouds

Unwrapped in my burial shroud

A loyal – no a royal part of the Heavenly Army

My horse – my chariot of fire

dressed in my gift of Panoply

Like Gladiators of old desire

Each fight

A march closer to the last

Shine the light

This vapor has past

Jordan yonder

Carry the torch

Crossing over

Going home at last

With Satan far to the rear

Here come those tears

You’re waiting to wipe away

They’ll stay dry the rest of the way.
