A Lover's Lament

A lover lost at sea.

Moan on o' winds of ill-warned change,
Moan softly o'er the valley.
Moan loudly o'er the mountain range,
For my love I cannot marry.

So cruel is the world that rent us apart,
That cut our souls asunder.
That tore and broke my faithful heart,
And all my life did plunder.

For winds did howl, and seas did rage,
And tore my love from me,
So now I must live in Hell's own cage,
For all eternity.

Very sad and tormented emotions eminate from your poem, Hazel. Nicely penned.

Love the rhythm and the heaviness of the sadness. Excellent!

I'm convinced. . . you were a bard in your last life! Again, I can almost hear the music. .

Powerful write. The sadness and disappointment are an offshot to its deep interlying anger. Very nicely written
