For all who have lost loved ones along lifes way.. This is one of my favorite poems by Helen.

When I must leave you
for a little while
Please do not grieve
and shed wild tears
and hug your sorrow
to you through the years

Start out bravely
with a gallant smile
and for my sake
and in my name,
live on and do
all things the same

Feed not your loneliness
on empty days,
but fill each waking hour
in useful ways

Reach out your hand
in comfort and cheer,
and I in turn
will comfort you
and hold you near

Never, never
be afraid to die,
For I am waiting
for you in the sky

This is breathtakingly real to me, right now, as I can imagine my father telling me just these exact thoughts. He went to the sky just this past month. Thank you.

OH WOW!
Helen Steiner Rice
Her inspirational cards I collected (in a deep Victorian flowered box) and sent many out!
Many I kept, that touched my heart deeply, to just read over now and then and lift my own down-spirit!
Your sharing it is such a warmth of heart and soul Mary Grace! Thank YOU for sharing your spirit and Helen's with such fine distinction and love!
I will always be INSPIRED and LIFTED by Helen Steiner Rice and now (even you)

God Bless!
Warmest Blessings and Hugs, Purple Lady Passion, SHEExooo

MAryGrace - This were my Father's words when we last spoke (he was 89) and I have accepted his departure as his "Set time". It is a blessing to be reminded of them again through these lines, thank you so much.
