This is a poem by my son, Asa, who is incarcerated. He wrote it inside a Christmas card for his daughter. Like all his other poems that are posted on this is sincere and filled with honesty...and as you can tell...he loves her very much. Her name is Shaniah.

It is because of 'He'...through me

...there is you.

Love had no reason to me...until

you defined it.

Time passing by in a hurry

...was meaningless.

Now...I treasure every second while

trying to keep a promise...

of spending every one with you.

Because of you...

I am no longer living for the moment

...I know my place and

understand my purpose.

'He' made me love you.

A treasured verse for a Daddy's girl to hold, read, re-read and smile at the thought behind the words. Then stored away forever in your heart, your father has touched you perfectly, because he loves you.

The unfolding of your heart and your love for your daughter is much like that of a flower petal, opening slowly, but surely, revealing your love for your beautiful little girl. She will be so very proud of you when she is older knowing that you thought of her as your main feeling for living. This really touched my heart, Asa. I have long been a fan of your Mother's writings and am now a fan of yours.

God Bless,

Such a beautiful poem and wonderful expression of love. Thank you for your review of my poem " Seedtime and Harvest" as well. You mentioned a line which reminded me of Romans 8:28 - And we know all things work together for the good to those who love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose. I would like to share this affirmation with you: Psalm 143: 8-12

Truly a gift from God, every child is. Asa, you probably sensed this from the time Shaniah was born, and as she grows and her life unfolds before you, you feel the love for her that God intended. I'm so glad that you are becoming more attuned to the heavenly realm as time goes glad God has blessed you with this beautiful little daughter.

To understand our "place" and "purpose" gives life true meaning... and there is no greater meaning to life than love. To understand His love is Our love means that nothing can ever separate us one from another. Every moment in love is "now".
