Grandchild

They were a little younger in this picture than they are now. I have six of these, grandchildren, that is. The picture is of the two who have lived us so long and do not live here anymore. I miss them but when they come back I wonder how I managed being with them all day every day! Bless all the grandchildren. Someone said children are the rainbow and grandchildren are the pot of gold at the end...I agree!

Grandchild

Replicas of time and face
Static curiosity zips all over the place
Always glowing, never slowing
Reminding me of earlier days.

Giggles notwithstanding, hush!
You turn my capably educated mind into mush
Ever soaring, mind is roaring
I cannot stay apace with all this rush!

Bent over with sides heaving
I check my watch. How long until you’re leaving?
Out of gas, watch you crash
Oh, my you are an angel sleeping.

Brilliant summation, Kathy! You have included such telling images here that I got the whole picture in these short lines - and felt every minute. You are surely blessed... I can't wait to find my little pots of gold one day at the end of my as-yet-single rainbows! Thank you for your visit to my pages recently. Kate xx

Beautifully rendered. I have one grandson who I have never seen. We have communicated sparingly via the Internet. It must be a wonderful feeling, everyone says so. I missed out.

Kathy,
I know the feeling! I have 4 that I see regularly, sometimes they spend the night. I have 3 I don't see. Grandchildren are the light that shines for me. I have a poem, Brooke, that I wrote about my lovely 14 yr. old granddaughter. She's growing up and looking at 'boys' now. She just started high school this year! Nana's going to worry about her!

Many blessings and love,
+Linda
