A Mother’s Selfish Plea
Sometimes I feel like a plague,
visited upon my own heart this way.
Illness and death of the ones I love
fits star crossed family like a hand in glove.
I am waiting for the next, or current I should say,
victim to be sentenced by the doctors today.
Please, I don’t want to lose any more dear hearts.
Hummingbird don’t fly away even before I depart.
Be strong to worry and enchant me for many more days
And decades too, if the Lord be willing, okay?
